Why does SlipTap need Accessibility and Input Monitoring permissions?

Accessibility lets SlipTap read Pro Tools windows and operate AudioSuite. Input Monitoring lets it detect your hotkeys. Both are granted in System Settings → Privacy & Security, and macOS guides you on first launch. SlipTap is Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple, so Gatekeeper verifies it like any trusted Mac app — and it uses these permissions only for the actions you set up, entirely on your Mac.

Does SlipTap open the plug-ins for me?

No. You open the AudioSuite plug-in windows in Pro Tools first. Then, in SlipTap, run Assign Open Plug-in — it finds your open windows and assigns each to a button or key. SlipTap controls windows that are already open; it doesn't launch them.

What keys can I use, and will they clash with Pro Tools?

Assign single keys (like Q or W) or combos (like ⌃R). When you set a hotkey, SlipTap checks it against Pro Tools' default shortcuts and warns you if it conflicts. Hotkeys are optional — the panel works on its own.

How do the trial and license work?

The download is a fully featured 14-day trial. After purchase you receive a license code by email — enter it in the app and the same build unlocks. No reinstall.

Can I use one license on two Macs at the same time?

Yes. One license can remain activated and be used on up to two Macs you own at the same time. To move it to a third Mac, deactivate one of the existing Macs in Settings → License, then activate the new Mac.

Do I need to be online to use it?

Only for license activation and update checks. After activating, SlipTap works offline for up to 14 days before it needs to reconnect. The 14-day trial also runs offline.

Which Pro Tools versions are supported?

SlipTap works with Avid Pro Tools that includes AudioSuite. No specific version is required, and we support it against current Pro Tools releases — if something doesn't work on a particular release, contact us.

Does it work with a non-English Pro Tools, like Korean?

SlipTap's own interface is available in English and Korean. It also detects the Pro Tools UI across eight languages — English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified/Traditional Chinese — so it works with a Korean Pro Tools setup.

Is it a subscription?

No. SlipTap is a one-time purchase — buy once and use it forever, with free updates within the major version. No recurring fees.

Can I assign Render and Learn from the same plug-in to separate buttons?

Yes. Assign the same plug-in to two SlipTap slots, then choose a different Run Mode for each slot, such as Render and Learn. Both slots can target the same open plug-in window, so you only need one window open.

What is your refund policy?

The 14-day trial lets you try everything before buying, so we don't offer refunds for change of mind. If you purchased and the app won't run due to a technical defect we can't resolve, contact us within 14 days of purchase for support or a refund. Payments and refunds are handled by Lemon Squeezy.

How do I uninstall SlipTap?

The essentials are removing the app and revoking its permissions:

  1. Quit SlipTap (menu-bar icon → Quit, or ⌘Q).
  2. Move SlipTap.app from Applications to the Trash.
  3. In System Settings → Privacy & Security, remove SlipTap from the Accessibility and Input Monitoring lists.
  4. If you enabled launch at login, remove SlipTap from System Settings → General → Login Items.
  5. For a full cleanup (optional), delete any SlipTap folder or preference file from ~/Library/Application Support and ~/Library/Preferences.
