Slipsound (“we”) builds SlipTap, a macOS app for Pro Tools. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website and the app, and how we use it. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to sell and support the software.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use SlipTap, we may collect:
- Contact details — your email address, if you email us for support.
- Purchase records — order and billing information, processed by our payment provider (see “Third-party services”).
- License activation data — a device identifier used to enforce the two-Mac activation limit and to validate your license.
- Technical data — basic information your browser sends automatically (such as IP address and browser type) when you visit this website.
- Newsletter and launch-notify email — if you enter your email address to receive launch or update news, we store that address to send you those messages.
How we use your information
We use this information to deliver and activate the software, process purchases, provide support, send transactional messages (such as license or purchase confirmations), and keep the product secure. We do not use it for advertising.
App permissions (Accessibility & Input Monitoring)
SlipTap requests macOS Accessibility and Input Monitoring permissions so it can press the Render / Learn / Send buttons of AudioSuite windows in Pro Tools on your behalf, and so global hotkeys can trigger those actions. These permissions are used only to perform the actions you configure, entirely on your Mac. SlipTap does not log your keystrokes, does not read other applications, and does not transmit any of this to us or anyone else. Your audio is processed locally by Pro Tools — SlipTap never uploads it.
Diagnostic files you choose to send
SlipTap can export a diagnostic log (Settings → Diagnostics → Export Diagnostics) so we can help with a problem. It records the app and macOS versions, permission state, hotkey engine state, Secure Input state, recent actions and errors, and crash information. It does not include Pro Tools session names, file names, clip names, or your license key. The file stays on your Mac and only reaches us if you attach it to an email yourself.
The same tab can also export an AX snapshot — the accessibility structure of your open Pro Tools windows, which we may ask for when window detection behaves differently on your setup. Titles and values are path- and name-redacted, but this file can still contain session, track, clip or file names, so please review it before sending. As with the diagnostic log, it is only shared if you send it to us.
Update checks
The app periodically contacts slipsound.com to check for a new version and to fetch a small configuration file that keeps window detection working across Pro Tools updates. Requests like these leave standard web-server log entries, such as IP address, time and app version. We do not use them to identify individual users, and no session or project information is sent.
Third-party services
Purchases and license delivery are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record and processes your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your full card details.
Email updates (newsletter)
If you enter your email to get launch or update news, we store your address and send those emails through EmailOctopus, our email service provider, which processes it on our behalf under its own privacy policy. We use it only to send the product news you signed up for — never for advertising — and we do not sell or share it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time. We keep it until you unsubscribe or we close the list.
International data transfers
Our processors operate outside Korea — Lemon Squeezy in the United States and EmailOctopus in the United Kingdom — so your data may be processed there under their own privacy policies:

Cookies and tracking
This website is a static site with no third-party analytics or advertising trackers, and it does not set tracking cookies.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it except with the service providers needed to deliver and support the software, or where required by law.
Retention and security
We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the software and support, and to meet legal and financial obligations. We take reasonable measures to protect it, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Concretely: newsletter and launch-notify emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them; purchase and tax records are kept as long as required by applicable tax and commercial law; support emails are kept only as long as needed to resolve your request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may opt out of non-essential messages. Contact us to make a request.
You can withdraw your consent to marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out. If you believe we have mishandled your data, you may lodge a complaint with your data protection authority — in Korea, the Personal Information Protection Commission (privacy report center 118); in the EU/EEA, your local supervisory authority.
