How do I update SlipTap?

While SlipTap is running, it checks for a new version about once a day and lets you know when one is available. Checking for updates needs an internet connection.

To check right away, choose [Check for Updates…] in the SlipTap app menu (next to the Apple menu). The About SlipTap window also shows whether you're up to date, with an [Update Now] button when a new version is available.

Your profiles are stored separately from the app, in ~/Library/Application Support/SlipTap/, so they carry over when you update. To be extra safe, make a backup first with File → [Create Full Profile Backup...].

If hotkeys or buttons stop working after an update, check the permissions — the entry in the permission list can go stale after an app update, and you may need to set it again.

Still stuck?

Right after the problem happens, open Preferences → Diagnostics → Export Diagnostics in SlipTap and send us the file. It records the app and macOS versions, permission state, hotkey engine, Secure Input, recent actions and errors, and crash information. It does not include Pro Tools session names, file names, clip names, or your license key.
